Program:

Richard, AF5AQ gave a very intriguing and informative presentation on the home-brew Buddipole, which is basically a rotatable dipole.  He showed the various parts of his home-brew kit, by way of illustration and a hand out,  how many antennas can be configured for different bands, including a 2 Meter, 6 Meter and 10 Meter beam.  Talk about versatility!  During the course of his program, he explained how easy it was to obtain many parts through one's local Hardware Store and over the Internet and how inexpensive they were.  Suggestions were brought up for next year's Programs on different types of antennas.  Charlie, N2PKW made further mention of the proposed Fox Hunt for next year, using small antennas the Club could put together.  A future presentation will be done on this subject.

Old Business: 

A big “Thank You!” to Teresa and Rod, KC5LCW for the successful Club Family Picnic.  Even though the Venue had to be changed at the last minute, they were successful!  Honorable Mention is due to Richard, AF5AQ and Marilyn, AF5DP for their invaluable help. Charlie, N2PKW called for a Motion to reimburse Rod, KC5LCW and Teresa for their Club Picnic expenses. Motion to Accept by Chris, K5MOZ;  Seconded by Hank, AE5WU;  Motion Carried.

Repeater Committee: 

Nick, K5BQJ had no updates from last Month.  He thanked those involved in putting up an HF antenna for Toxey, W5TMM.  That is one of the aspects of Ham Radio – helping others.

Hamfest:

Chairman Chris, K5MOZ announced that all the tables were spoken for, prizes have been procured and the scheduled meeting time that Friday would be between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. for setting up to start.  More information will be made available on the Web Site as well as on the nightly Net.

Boy Scout Radio Merit Badge University: 

A big “Thank You!” to Richard, AF5AQ and all those who assisted on the Net.  There were 15 Scouts who qualified.

New Business:

Rod, KC5LCW stated he has not received any nominations for any position on the Board for next year.

After the Hamfest, please submit the candidate of your choice for Ham Of The Year to the Club Secretary, Valerie, N9RQX.  The name and call sign must be submitted prior to the November Club Meeting.  Please submit NO LATER than November 24, 2014 to be included.
